Richard Wehrman | Poetry

Creating poetic connection to Soul, Presence, and Awareness of the World

An award-winning illustrator, graphic designer and poet, Richard lives in rural Upstate New York. He is an artist who found his way to poetry through the language and heart teachings of two 13th and 14th-century Persian poets. Richard writes primarily to explore the inner qualities of the Heart, as known through the multiple Perennial philosophies, and as expressed through both Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. His works explore the spiritual and psychological aspects of living an embodied life. His influences have ranged from Rumi, Hafiz, and ibn 'Arabi to Mary Oliver, Franz Wright, William Stafford and W.S. Merwin.

BEING HERE: Poetic Inquiries

This new collection of poems by Richard Wehrman explores the nature of our unfolding daily meditative life, experienced without censoring what arises and remaining open to what is revealed in its innocence and presence, in the moment of the writing itself.
